My monthly series

Solo road trip to Castle Rock, Colorado.

This is the thirty-first post in my Month in review series.

Since we came back from our wedding trip, we’ve doubled down on immigration paperwork and moving preparation. We are now steadily aligned on Winnipeg, Manitoba, as our location to settle back in Canada.

In the meantime, we keep up with our weekly hobbies. I did a road trip to Castle Rock and Denver, Colorado, for an aikido workshop. Riya had a main character number set as Artemis in Ariadne’s Dream.

Activities

We spent most of the month at home, in Santa Fe, so that we can spend more time on our immigration paperwork.

Ariadne’s Dream

The main social-cultural event was Ariadne’s Dream, Mosaic Dance Company’s yearly big theatrical art and dance performance. The local collaborator artist this year makes these monumental glass pieces. The art images were projected on the stage. Riya had a great performance and overall I enjoy every Mosaic dance show :)

Trip to Denver

I went to Castle Rock, Colorado, for an Aikido workshop. It’s about 6 h 30 m drive North from Santa Fe.

I got to spend a whole day learning from 4 different teachers and practicing with people from various schools from neighbouring states. Such a great learning opportunity!

On the day I arrived in Castle Rock, I extended a visit at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Denver. It’s an extra 45 minutes of driving from Castle Rock.

The special exhibit was Selections from Prospect.6 New Orleans. This was a stunning and different exhibit. New Orleans definitely and historically has a lot of diversity and inspiration. I want to visit there some day and learn about all its cultures and histories.
