August 2025 in review

My monthly series

Balanced Root Apothecary, Denver, Colorado.

This is the thirty-third post in my Month in review series.

I’m very grateful for the habit of journaling. This is how I’m able to catch up writing about the last 6 months.

Santa Fe

At home and at work, we were busier than ever handling our high-stakes projects while preparing our relocation.

I took care of documenting a few moment of outside adventures.

  • Dinner date at El Campo restaurant at Los Poblanos Ranch, near Albuquerque.
  • Riya started the process of packing our belongings.
  • I reserved the UHaul for moving in September, started the process for exporting our car, and we started looking at the house market in Winnipeg.
  • We welcomed a new neighbour in the compound, she joined us at Friday morning coffee.
  • Riya and the Mosaic Dance Company performed at the Mono Mundo dance event at the Plaza.

Denver

We drove to Denver for an appointment related to moving countries. We stayed at a quaint traditional bed and breakfast. And since we booked at the last minute, we changed rooms every night for three nights. This was fortunate because every room was artistically themed and we got to experience three very different rooms :)

  • Denver Botanical Garden.
  • Ritual Cravt witchcraft and esoterism.
  • Brass Armadillo antiques and flea market.
  • Balanced Root apothecary.
  • Molly Brown House Museum.
  • Denver Art Museum.
  • Dushanbe Tea House and walking on Pearl Street in Boulder.
