My monthly series

Journey from Santa Fe to Winnipeg.

This is the thirty-fourth post in my Month in review series.

I’m sorry about this one, there are over 300 pictures. This month is extra packed because I visited 4 cities and moved across countries, and there were so many sights I wanted to share!

I broke down the pictures in small categories.

New York City days 1 and 2

Riya had an opportunity to perform The Return program with Mosaic Dance Company in New York City! So I went with her and we did a bit of tourism before leaving the US.

  • Walk through Central Park.
  • Visit at The Met Museum.
  • Dinner at Tha Phraya.

New York City day 3

  • The Morgan Library Frick collection gallery.
  • Lunch at Her Name is Han.
  • Dinner at Ichiran Ramen.

New York City day 4

  • Lunch at Çka Ka Qëllue Albanian restaurant.
  • Shopping at Muji at Hudson Yards.
  • High Line walk.
  • Ey Val Persian restaurant in Queens.

New York City day 5

  • Snack at Xi’an Famous Food.
  • Lunch at Foul Witch.
  • Mosaic Dance Company performs The Return at SoHo Playhouse.

New York City day 6

  • Flight back to Albuquerque.

Bye!

Santa Fe activities

Here are a few of our last memories in Santa Fe.

  • Packing and fixing the house before the move.
  • Dinner with neighbours at the Gastropub restaurant.
  • Goodbye Friday morning coffee before I leave Santa Fe.
  • Dinner with friends at Cowgirl’s.
  • Attended Riya’s last public performance with Mosaic Dance Company.
  • Dinner at La Fogata, in Santa Fe Plaza district.

Bye!

Moving to Winnipeg

My cross-country international trucking journey.

Serendipitously, my truck rental featured an attraction in Saskatchewan on the side.

For my first driving segment, I went to Castle Rock, North of Denver. I chose this target because I went there once before. It was a half-day drive, and I knew a good hotel. I was leaving at noon, local time, so I needed a reachable and reliable target on my first day of driving with the truck.

When I reached the hotel, I calculated my daily driving distance, and planned to reach Lincoln, NE, the next day.

Evey time I saw geese formations flying overhead, I felt excited because I’m also migrating North!

I drove on interstate highways for about 10 hours per day, for 4 days.

After crossing to Canada, I left the truck and our belongings at a rental storage space.

Then I explored Winnipeg’s city centres for 2 days.

Phew!

Montreal visit

After arriving in Winnipeg, I lived in an Airbnb I rented for a month. But only two days after arriving in my new home city, I flew to Montreal to visit my family for a week, after not seeing them for over two years.

À la prochaine!

Winnipeg activities

Back in Winnipeg, I took a walk downtown during the Nuit Blanche outside art festival to take pictures.

Here are some pictures from exploration walks in my new city!
